In the Presence of my Father

Presence
In class when the teacher called my name, I would answer ‘Present Miss’. That meant I was in her presence, I was present, there with her. Well, when we are in our Father God’s presence it means we are with Him.
Verse 1 – Called by name!
When we think of our big God on His throne we can sometimes feel so small and unimportant and alone but God never wants us to feel like that. He is our Father who loves us. He is interested in everything going on in our life and He promised never to leave us. He is always with us so we can always be in His presence whether we feel like we are or not.
God knows each one of us by name – that means He knows all about us.
You call someone by name to show that you are speaking just to them and to get their attention. God does that for us in all sorts of ways. It might be through something someone says to us or through something we read in the Bible or a Christian book or through something we see etc. We just know deep down inside that God wants to get our attention and say something just to us.
Verse 2 – God is Big!
God is so big which means He can help us with all sorts of things.
Have you ever watched a baby learning to walk… they fall time and time again until they get it right and if they’ve got a good parent standing by, the parent will catch them and set them off again. When we just don’t get things right God catches us and gives us the strength to carry on and try again. He will help us not to worry as He gives us His peace and we can know that we are safe because He is in charge.
Imagine
Imagine yourself running into your Heavenly Fathers loving arms for big hug. You feel safe, loved, comforted and protected. You can do that anytime you need to because He does love you and He is always there for you.
Verse 3 – God loves You!
God loves us so much and enjoys spending time with us and for us there is no better place to be than in His presence.
Sometimes when I am at home, when it’s just God and me, I will dance just because I am so happy that God loves me and I am His child.
Wherever we are and whatever we are doing we can be in God’s loving presence, listening to Him and talking with Him because He is with us whether we are at home, at work, at school or at play.
Verse 4 – Think of God Challenge
Make a list of what God is like and all the things God has done and all that He does for you and for others– doesn’t that make you feel glad!
In God’s Presence
It’s lovely just to relax and think about God. You can enjoy being with Him and being loved by Him – it’s like resting in His arms. A good time for you to do that might be at the start of the day, in the middle of the day or at the end of a busy day. That might be on your bed or in a comfy chair or in the garden etc. Wherever it is, it’s just time for you and God to be together.
