Midget Gems

Omnipotent

Intro

Omnipotent means God is able to do everything he decides to do.  He is all powerful.  Nothing is too hard for God.

Challenge

Can you make a list of things that God cannot do?  There are no limits to God’s power but God only uses that power in line with who he is and what he is like.  God cannot do anything that would go against his own character or what he is like.

For example God cannot lie or sin or stop existing, or stop being God!

Powerful God

Knowing God can do anything means we can trust him with our lives and our situations knowing he has the power to change both us and our situations.  We can depend on him, knowing that he is powerful enough to stay in control.  We can ask him to save and help us.  We can trust him to keep his promises because whatever he promises he has the power to do.

Bible Bit

Red Gem

Read Ephesians 1:19.  Paul tells us God’s power, which is so great it cannot be compared to any other sort of power, raised Jesus from the dead and this same power of God is at work in and through us as Christians!

God chooses to do great things through us with the help of His Holy Spirit!  God gives us power in our bodies and minds; he makes us spiritually strong to follow his ways and do what he calls us to do and gives us power to persuade people about his truth.

And Eph 3:20 says, ‘With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of.’  Wow!

Prayer Challenge
