Omnipresent
Intro
Another name used to describe God is omnipresent which means always present.
At school, during registration, your teacher calls your name then you may answer ‘Present Miss’. ‘Present’ means you are there.
Sometimes we feel really close to God; other times he seems a long way away. God is actually very close to us. When we become Christians the Holy Spirit actually comes and lives inside us. You can’t get closer than that!
Bible Bit
Read Psalm 139: 7-10. It says that there is nowhere in the whole universe where we can get away from God which is great because it means no matter where we are, we can talk with God and worship him knowing he is right there with us.
I think one of the best things about being a Christian is knowing you’ve always got this really loving friend with you who you can share absolutely anything with, at any time, wherever you are!
Omnipresent Challenge
On an A4 piece of paper make 3 columns downwards.
In the first column make a list of all those places you go in a week. Include the different rooms in your house and the different places at school or clubs.
In the second column list what you do in each place.
For each place and activity, think about how it makes you feel to know that God is with you all the time
Does that make you feel happy, loved, not lonely any more, uncomfortable, relieved, brave, funny!?
Record those feelings in the third column.
If you feel uncomfortable knowing God is there ask yourself why. It might be that you know God would not want you to do what you are doing.
Prayer Challenge
As often as you can remember today or tomorrow, think, ‘God is with me right now’. Try to imagine him right next to you and say a short prayer to say thank you!
Extra Bible Bit
Find Hebrews 13:5 and Matthew 28:20 to see what they say!! You’ll be really encouraged!
