Intro

This Midget Gem is inspired by the song “Precious One”.  When Jenny wrote the verse of this song she was 10 years old.  She described Jesus as precious, like Gold!  Listen to the song by clicking on the button.

What is your Treasure?

Is it earthly treasure or lasting treasure?

Earthly treasures can be stolen or rot or rust away and we can’t take them with us when we die!

Make a list of treasure that won’t last for ever.  Examples might be toys/games, money, bike etc. Can you think of any more?

Lasting treasure is worth having even though you can’t buy it! It will last us from now and on into Heaven.

Now make a list of treasure that will last for ever.  Here’s some examples I thought of:-

Have you thought much about storing up treasures in heaven?

Is your heart set on getting things like money, possessions and power or is your heart set on pleasing Jesus?

Rewards in Heaven

When Christians come before Jesus when they die, they will receive Jesus’ blessing and rewards for doing what Jesus asked them to do in their lives. Knowing this should make us more concerned about pleasing and obeying Jesus than having lots of money, owning loads of things and having power which will be useless to us after we die.
