Luke wrote the Gospel and Acts of the Apostles, he travelled with Paul and met
many of the disciples Acts 21v17&18 but he was not one of the 12 disciples.
Thomas didn't believe that Jesus had risen when he was told by the other
disciples. He only believed when he saw Jesus. John 20v24–29
Matthew was a tax collector when Jesus called him to be a disciple. Matthew 9v9–13
Paul, when he was known as Saul, hated the disciples and wanted to kill them
(Acts 9v1). He only became an apostle after his conversion on the road to Damascus.

Barnabas became a follower of Jesus after His death and resurrection and he
became an important member of the early church. Acts 4v36&37
All we know about Thaddaeus us that he was on the 12 disciples. Mark 3v18
Mark was a missionary and the author of one of the Gospels, but he wasn't one of the
12 disciples.
James and his brother JOhn were very close to Jesus. They were with Jesus at many
important events including the raising of Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5v37) the transfiguration
(Mark 9v2) and at the garden of Gethsemame (Mark 14v33).
Bartholomew is one the disciples who we know nothing about, his name only
appears in the lists of the 12 disciples. Luke 6v14
Peter (also known as Simon Peter) is the most famous of the 12. He was very close to
Jesus and was the first person to understand that Jesus was Gods son, the Messiah. Mark 8v27–30
Simon was a disciple who was know as either ‘The Canaanite’ (Mark 10v4)
or the ‘Zealot’ (Acts 1v13) as not to be confused with the other Simon who Jesus renamed.
Judas Iscariot was the disciple who betrayed Jesus. John 18v1–5
Philip was one of Jesus’ fist disciples (John 1v34) and he
had no idea how Jesus could feed 5000 men. John 6v5–14
Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist. After Jesus’ baptism he choose to follow
Jesus, bringing his brother with him to meet Jesus. John 1v29–43
Stephen became one of the leaders of the early church after Jesus’ death and
resurrection (Acts 6v1–6). He was the first person to be killed because he was a Christian.
Acts 7v54–60
Timothy had two letter written to him by Paul which are in the bible, but this was many
