Famous for its footballers, Brazil is a big country which makes up ½ of South America in
terms of land and number of people.
Brazil could be a rich country but its past leaders did not do a good job of running the
country. They have manage to make some of the country rich, most poor and some starving and
desperate.
Brazil allows people the freedom to believe in whatever religion they want too and most
Brazilians are Christians with more than ½ the country being members of the catholic
church.
Continued spiritual hunger in the midst of insecurity has caused many to seek after God. Evangelical Christians continue to grow in numbers and influence — but not at the rate many have believed in the past.
The state of Goias was well known for spiritism, but massive prayer by women is breaking this power. In 1992 Christians were 7% of the population, but by 1999 they had greatly increased.
The Brazilian missionary movement is continuing to grow and mature
Pray that the government will start to work for the poor, underprivileged children and indigenous tribal peoples.

They will be a Christian voice in Brazil. Pray that they may use their growing influence wisely and in Biblical holiness and humility.
Spiritual depth. Many people have become Christians, but have not been taught the bible so they have not become disciples of Jesus. Pray that the church in Brazil will change and start to produce strong mature Christians.
